Agnes Ithungu, the Queen of the Rwenzururu Kingdom, has raised concern over individuals impersonating officials of Nyabaghole Kighona SACCO to defraud members of the public.
Speaking to CroozeFM in Kyarumba Town Council, Bukonzo East, Kasese District, the Queen said the fraudsters are undermining the SACCO’s objective of improving household incomes and reducing poverty among kingdom subjects.
She urged residents to remain vigilant and verify the identity of anyone claiming to represent the SACCO before making financial transactions, and encouraged victims to report such cases to police.
The Queen also called on subjects to embrace a culture of saving, noting it is essential for financial security, especially in retirement.
