By Aggrey Twesigye

Police in Mbarara City have rescued 15 more youths from Kakoba Ward in Mbarara City South Division who are suspected to have been recruited into the Global Alliance In Motion (AIM) networking scheme.

The youths were rescued from a residence where they had reportedly been living in poor conditions after being lured with promises of securing jobs in Mbarara City.

According to SP Kenneth Kabwigo Gumisiriza, the Mbarara City South Division Police Commander, the victims were allegedly recruited under false pretenses and later found in unfavorable circumstances.

He said police are making arrangements to reunite the rescued youths with their families. Most of the victims originate from Wakiso, Jinja, and Mukono districts.

The latest operation brings the total number of victims rescued from the scheme to 325 in the past two weeks as investigations continue.
