Leaders in Ibanda District have raised concern over delayed collection of medical waste at Ruhoko Health Centre IV, warning that it is affecting sanitation standards and service delivery at the facility.
The issue was highlighted on Monday by the health facility in-charge, Dr Peter Rwambuka, during a district stakeholders’ meeting organized by the Office of the Western Regional Resident Commissioner at the district headquarters.
Dr Rwambuka said the facility continues to face challenges in managing medical waste due to delays by the responsible regional disposal team.
He appealed to the relevant authorities to intervene and ensure timely collection of waste in order to improve sanitation and enhance healthcare service delivery.
