Police in Mbarara City have arrested three men suspected of being part of a criminal gang accused of terrorizing residents in the city.
The suspects were apprehended on Wednesday during an intelligence-led operation conducted in Baghdad Suburb, Lugazi Cell, Kakoba Ward.
According to SP Kenneth Kabwigo Gumisiriza, the Mbarara City Division Police Commander, the operation led to the recovery of narcotic substances, housebreaking tools, and other dangerous items.
He said preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects are linked to a series of criminal activities that have caused insecurity among residents in Mbarara City.
Police added that the suspects are expected to face charges related to possession of narcotic substances and housebreaking implements as investigations continue.
