Police in Bushenyi District are investigating an aggravated robbery in which unidentified assailants attacked a security guard and stole a firearm at Kashenyi SACCO in Ishaka Division.
The incident occurred at around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Kashenyi SACCO in Kashenyi II Cell, Kashenyi Ward, Bushenyi Municipality.
According to police, four armed men carrying pangas and sticks stormed the premises and attacked a security guard attached to Global Link Security Services while he was on duty.
The victim, identified as 28-year-old Karamuzi Aron, sustained injuries to the head and knee before the attackers stole a pump-action rifle loaded with three rounds of ammunition.
He was rushed to KIU Teaching Hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
Police say investigations are ongoing to recover the firearm, identify the suspects, and establish the motive behind the robbery.
