Juvenile Motorcyclist Killed in Kasese Road Crash

 Police in Hima Division, Kasese District, are investigating a fatal road crash that claimed the life of a juvenile motorcyclist.

According to Rwenzori East Police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate, the crash occurred on 30th June 2026 at around 4:00 p.m. at Kinyamwenge in Hima Township along the Kasese–Fort Portal Highway.

The accident involved motor vehicle registration number UBB 111A, a Toyota Corona driven by Francis Gumisiriza, and motorcycle registration number UFM 851J, a Senke ridden by a male juvenile identified as Faruku Birungi.

Police reports indicate that the juvenile allegedly made an abrupt U-turn in the middle of the road, was knocked by the vehicle, fell, and died instantly.

The body was conveyed to Kasese Municipal Mortuary for postmortem, while both the car and the vehicle were taken to Hima Police Station pending inspection by the Inspector of Vehicles (IOV).

Police have reminded the public that children are not permitted to ride or drive, noting that they are unable to make sound road decisions.
