Local Government Summons District Leaders for Anti-Corruption Meeting

The Ministry of Local Government has invited Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs), Town Clerks, District Chairpersons, City and Municipal Mayors, District Service Commission Chairpersons and other local government leaders to a one-day meeting on implementing President Yoweri Museveni’s directive to expose and eliminate corruption in Uganda.

According to a circular dated July 20, 2026, and signed by Permanent Secretary Ben Kumumanya, the meeting will focus on strengthening accountability, enhancing transparency, improving service delivery and fostering inter-agency collaboration in the fight against corruption.

The meeting is scheduled for August 5, 2026, at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala, starting at 8:30 a.m. Local government leaders have been asked to make the necessary arrangements to attend as the government steps up efforts to combat corruption at the local level.
