Kisoro Grade One Magistrate’s Court, presided over by His Worship Bob Asiimwe, has remanded a 28-year-old Rwandan national, Vicent Mashengesho, on two counts of murder and rape of a 16-year-old girl, Brenda Munezero.
Prosecution led by State Attorney Eroni Nambi, told court that on 22nd June 2026 , while in Kamonyi Village, Northern Division, Kisoro Municipality, Mashengesho alias “Fit Fit” unlawfully raped and murdered Munezero. The deceased was a resident of Mikingo Village, Busamba Ward, Southern Division, Kisoro Municipality.
Nambi also informed the court that inquiries into the matter are still ongoing and requested an adjournment. His Worship Asiimwe did not allow Mashengesho to take a plea, noting that the offence is a capital charge that falls under the jurisdiction of the Chief Magistrate’s Court.
He subsequently adjourned the case to 23rd July 2026 for hearing.
Munezero was buried on Tuesday.
