Kazo District leaders have confirmed an outbreak of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) and imposed a three-week quarantine to contain its spread.
According to District Veterinary Officer Dr. Alfred Nabimanya, the disease was first reported in neighboring Kiruhura and Sembabule districts before spreading to Kazo, where cases have been confirmed in Nkungu and Burunga sub-counties.
Farmers have been urged to remain vigilant, report suspected cases promptly, and cooperate with veterinary authorities during the ongoing disease control campaign.
Assistant RDC Gershom Mushabe announced the district-wide quarantine as authorities intensify efforts to prevent further transmission of the disease.
