The Kasese District Health Department today held a meeting with partner organisations to discuss response measures as the Ebola outbreak continues to pose a threat in the region.
The indoor meeting brought together officials from WHO Uganda, the Uganda Red Cross, Save the Children, the Ministry of Health, and religious leaders.
Kasese District Health Officer Dr. Amon Bwambale Isemamba said the district has been identified as a high-risk area due to its border with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He noted that the meeting focused on strengthening preparedness and coordination efforts to prevent any possible outbreak in the district.
Kasese District LCV Chairperson Eriphazi Muhindi Bukombi urged residents to remain vigilant and report any person showing signs and symptoms associated with Ebola.
