Police in Rukungiri District are investigating a fatal road accident that claimed the life of a 26-year-old boda boda rider and left a pedestrian seriously injured.

The deceased has been identified as Rogers Abisinguza, a resident of Rumira Cell in Bugangari Parish, Bugangari Sub-county. The pedestrian, John Bosco Byaruhanga, 28, from Kakirago II Cell in the same parish, is currently receiving treatment at Bagahwe Health Facility.

Police officers visited and documented the scene before clearing it to restore normal traffic flow.

The body of the deceased was taken to Bugangari Health Centre IV mortuary pending a postmortem examination, while the motorcycle was impounded for inspection. Investigations into the exact cause of the accident are ongoing.
