Two Primary One pupils have died and three others were critically injured after a classroom collapsed during a heavy storm at Runyinya Primary School in Kigarama Sub-county, Sheema District.
The victims were identified as Joseph Musasizi and Ayesigye Griphine. Three other pupils—Clinton Akanyijuka, Innocent Tumuramye and Byamukama Deus—were rushed to Kabwohe Health Centre IV for treatment.
Sheema Deputy Resident District Commissioner Sam Orikunda described the tragedy as unfortunate and urged district engineers to regularly inspect government buildings, especially schools, to prevent similar incidents.

Residents criticized the delayed emergency response and blamed the collapse on the poor condition of the classroom block.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Kabwohe Health Centre IV Mortuary for post-mortem examinations. Police had not yet issued an official statement by press time.
