Two of the 305 ballot boxes delivered this morning in Mbarara City were found with tampered seals.

According to Mbarara City Returning Officer Violet Atuhuura, one of the affected boxes was meant for Rwenjeru Primary School polling station in Biharwe Ward, and the other for Kagasha Church of Uganda polling station in Rwakishakizi Ward.

Mbarara City received a total of 305 ballot boxes for both Mbarara City South and Mbarara City North divisions, with 181 boxes allocated to the South and 124 to the North.

Atuhuura promptly replaced the seals in the presence of stakeholders to ensure transparency.

The city has 305 polling stations and a registered voter population of 135,756. Atuhuura assured the public that all polling materials will remain under police custody until they are dispatched to the respective polling stations.
