Police in Kitagwenda District are investigating a tragic domestic violence incident in which a 25-year-old man allegedly killed his wife over suspected infidelity.

Francis Rumanzi, a resident of Kitagwenda, reportedly attacked his wife, Jacinta Mwebaze, 20, with a panga, fatally injuring her. After committing the crime, he voluntarily surrendered to Kitagwenda Central Police Station at midnight.

ASP Ronald Nsabumukiza, the Officer in Charge of Kitagwenda CPS, confirmed the incident while speaking to Crooze FM. Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter, and Rumanzi remains in police custody as they gather more details.

The tragic incident has sparked concerns over rising cases of domestic violence in the region, with police urging couples to seek peaceful conflict resolution methods instead of resorting to violence.
