Ibanda District has approved a Shs 41.49 billion budget for the 2026/2027 financial year, marking an increase from Shs 36 billion in the previous financial year to boost service delivery.
According to budget details presented before the council, conditional grants will take the largest share at Shs 26.9 billion, followed by unconditional grants of Shs 9.4 billion.
Other sources include development grants worth Shs 2.6 billion, locally raised revenue of Shs 1.1 billion, external financing of Shs 600 million, and other government transfers estimated at Shs 688 million.
Vice District Chairperson Elias Tumubweine welcomed the increment, describing it as a positive step toward addressing development needs and improving service delivery across the district.
