One person has died and several others were injured in a road crash involving a train and a bus carrying students of Mwebaze High School, Kakiri, along Katosi Road in Mukono District.
The accident occurred at about 6:45 a.m. today, at Namumira–Bukasa Village, Kyetume Parish, Nakisunga Sub-county, as the students were travelling to Jinja District for an educational trip.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Rachel Kawala said police and other emergency responders rushed the injured to Mukono General Referral Hospital and nearby health facilities, while investigations into the cause of the crash are underway.
