The Mbarara District Chairperson, Hygiene Twongirwe, has warned civil servants against absenteeism, describing it as a major challenge that could undermine the implementation of government programmes in the district.
Twongirwe made the remarks while chairing a District Technical Planning Committee meeting at the District Rukiiko Hall in Kamukuzi.
He said persistent absenteeism among technical staff affects service delivery and hampers the effective execution of government projects aimed at improving the welfare of residents.
The district chairperson urged civil servants to remain committed to their duties, uphold professionalism and accountability, and ensure government programmes are implemented efficiently and on schedule.
