Authorities in Kasese District have commenced spot gravelling works on the Kasanga–Mithimusanju security road in Bwera Sub-county, Bukonzo West, to improve transport and communication in the area.

A team of engineers from the district works department is currently on the ground upgrading the key access road to ensure safer and smoother travel for farmers, traders, learners, and other road users, especially ahead of the rainy season.

District officials say the intervention is aimed at enhancing accessibility and boosting economic activity.

The LCV Chairperson, Eriphazi Muhindi Bukombi, noted that after Bukonzo West, similar works will be extended to other constituencies across the district.

Residents, including Nelson Mbale and Mutsuba Yalala, have welcomed the development, saying the road had long been in a poor state.

Motorists have been advised to drive cautiously near work zones and follow instructions from site teams as construction continues.
