Kamwenge District has approved a Shs 42.4 billion budget for the 2026/2027 financial year, aimed at enhancing service delivery and driving socio-economic transformation.

The budget was presented during a council sitting by Vice Chairperson and Secretary for Finance Turinawe Agnes Mugisha, who outlined key revenue sources and spending priorities.

According to the framework, the district expects Shs 40.5 billion from central government transfers, Shs 1.5 billion from local revenue, and Shs 423 million from donors and development partners.

LCV Chairperson Joseph Karungi said the budget will prioritize sectors critical to improving livelihoods and promoting sustainable development.

He expressed confidence that proper implementation and accountability will boost service delivery and improve living standards across the district.
