Kazo District Council has approved a UGX 25.1 billion budget for the 2025/2026 financial year, with a strong focus on improving education, healthcare, and administration services.
The budget was passed during a council session held on Tuesday at the district headquarters, chaired by District Speaker Dan Bwamunyoga.
According to the Secretary for Finance and District Councilor representing Kyampangara Sub-county, the budget will be funded through Conditional Government Transfers (78.2%), Discretionary Government Transfers (16.9%), Locally Raised Revenue (4.6%), and other Government Transfers (0.3%).
In terms of allocation, the education sector received the largest share of the budget at 42.4%, followed by health at 18.7%, and administration at 15.6%. Other sectors include production (6.5%), works (5.2%), statutory bodies (2.4%), water (2.2%), and natural resources (1.5%).
Speaker Bwamunyoga commended the collaborative spirit of the council and technical staff throughout the budgeting process and called for continued commitment to efficient service delivery.
The approved budget reflects the district’s dedication to addressing community needs and enhancing public service in key sectors.
