At least 30 children in Ibanda District have undergone life-changing surgical procedures during a two-day paediatric surgical camp.

The camp was organized by Uganda Martyrs Hospital Ibanda in collaboration with Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital and BethanyKids Uganda.

The initiative targeted children below 12 years suffering from congenital conditions such as hernias, undescended testes, and anorectal malformations—ailments that often go untreated due to financial constraints.

Medical Director Gothaldo Tumubugane confirmed that all 30 children were successfully operated on, with 24 cases involving hernias and undescended testes.

Meanwhile, Ambrose Besigye reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to improving children’s health through similar outreach programs.
