Police in Kazo District are investigating the killing of a woman identified as Joan Amutukundare, who was allegedly attacked at her home in Kenturegye Cell, Kantaganya Parish, Engari Sub-county.
The incident reportedly occurred at around 3am on Tuesday, when an unidentified person allegedly entered the couple’s home and attacked Joan and her husband, Munyarwanda Oswarid.
Joan died at the scene, while her husband sustained injuries and was rushed to Kagongo Hospital in Ibanda District for treatment.
Police later visited the scene and conducted a postmortem examination with medical officers from Ibanda.
LC1 Vice Chairperson John Mwesigwa has called for increased security in Kitongore and Kantaganya parishes as investigations continue. No suspect has been arrested so far.
