Business operators in Kasese District have raised concern over frequent power shutdowns, saying the outages are causing low production and financial losses.

Mrs. Uziyeri Ithungu, who operates a beverage shop at the Mpondwe-Lhubiriha Border, said the constant power interruptions are affecting businesses that depend heavily on electricity.

Meanwhile, Peter Nasasira, a worker at Muwofa Sweet Cakes Bakery in Kinyamaseke Town Council, said the outages are disrupting operations and delaying customer orders.

Rev. Gerald Kule Mutendaji called on Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited to ensure its staff are clearly identified.

He alleged that some individuals are collecting money from clients while falsely claiming to work for the company.

Rev. Mutendaji raised the concerns while at the UEDCL offices in Bwera, urging the company to address the persistent load shedding and the issue of impersonators targeting customers.
