The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has handed over 60,247 tablets to the government to support the management of upcoming elections and monitor the implementation of the Parish Development Model.
The tablets, which represent half of the 122,026 devices initially procured for the 2024 census, were officially transferred to the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance yesterday in Kampala.
While handing over the devices, Dr. Chris Mukiza, the UBOS executive director, emphasized the importance of generating quality and timely data to inform decision-making.
The move underscores the government’s efforts to leverage digital tools for efficient service delivery and project monitoring at all levels.
