Shocking new revelations have emerged against Levi Amarakutunga, the Kitagwenda District Councilor representing persons with disabilities, who is the prime suspect in the alleged ritual murder of four-year-old Trinah Ainomugisha.
As investigations into the murder continue, community members have come forward with disturbing allegations of sexual abuse and forced homosexual acts at the hands of Amarakutunga.
Speaking to Crooze FM, one victim, who requested anonymity, recounted a chilling encounter with Amarakutunga, how one day, he found him along the way in the late evening and offered him a lift in his car. After getting into his car, he started caressing his belly and mustache while sticking his tongue out.
The victim further revealed that Amarakutunga drove him directly to his home, locked the car doors, and continued to make inappropriate advances.
Similarly, another victim narrates how he was directed to Amarakutunga for prayers to gain wealth. However, upon reaching Amarakutunga’s home in Nyabihoko Parish, Buhanda Sub-County, he was asked to stay overnight while his boda boda rider was sent away.
Innocent Kizza, the male councilor representing youth in Kabujogera Town Council, confirmed that similar reports about Amarakutunga’s alleged sodomy had been circulating.
The Kitagwenda District Resident Commissioner (RDC), Nicholas Nuwagira, also acknowledged that authorities were aware of the allegations.
Ronald Nsabumukiza, the Kitagwenda Central Police Station Officer in Charge, told Crooze FM that as security, they are handling the matter and probably next week they will be aligned in court. Amarakutunga and three of his workers were arrested on Monday in connection with the suspected ritual sacrifice of four-year-old Trinah Ainomugisha. They are currently being held at Kitagwenda Central Police Station as investigations continue.
Once a celebrated gospel singer known for songs such as “Abyeitu nibikorwa Mukama” and “Nyentsya Yaawe,” and a director at Nyabihoko Parents Primary School, Amarakutunga’s public image now stands tainted by these shocking allegations.
As the police continue their investigations, the people of Kitagwenda wait for justice not only for Ainomugisha but also for those who have allegedly suffered at the hands of Amarakutunga.
