By Obed Kithende

Agnes Ithungu Asimawe, the Queen of the Rwenzururu Kingdom, has urged residents of Busongora County North to embrace a saving culture to support their children’s education.

She made the remarks while officially opening Nyabaghole Ekighona SACCO in Rugendabara–Kikongo Town Council in Kasese District, noting that families that save are better able to pay school fees and invest in development.

Assistant RDC Justine Muhindo Mutabazi encouraged residents to engage in commercial farming, particularly growing cocoa and coffee alongside food crops to boost income and savings.

Rugendabara–Kikongo Town Council Vice Chairperson Christine Atuhaire highlighted challenges facing the area, including inadequate maternity services at health facilities.

Meanwhile, Chairperson-elect Edson Muhyana called on the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu to lobby for State House scholarships to improve education levels in the area.
