The Nyabaghole of Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu Agnes Ithungu Asiimawe, has urged residents to embrace kitchen gardening as a way to fight food insecurity.
She made the call while addressing residents of Bukonzo East at Kisinga Town Council in Kasese District, encouraging urban farming using sacks, jerrycans, and containers to grow vegetables such as sukuma, onions, and dodo.
Nyabaghole noted that families do not need large gardens to practice agriculture, adding that kitchen gardens can help reduce food costs and improve household nutrition.
Assistant RDC Justine Muhindo Mutabazi said government is supporting communities through extension workers to promote modern farming practices.
Meanwhile, Angela Birunji urged families to embrace hard work to improve their livelihoods.
