Kabale District Khadi, Sheikh Kabu Lule

By Obed Kankiriho

The Kabale District Khadi, Sheikh Kabu Lule, has called for national dialogue as a pathway to promoting peace, unity, and reconciliation in Uganda.

Sheikh Lule urged Ugandans to embrace dialogue whenever disagreements arise, saying constructive engagement is essential for national stability. He made the remarks on Tuesday while addressing the media at Masjid Jaamia Kirigime Mosque in Kabale Municipality, at the start of the holy month of Ramadan.

He noted that with the general elections having just concluded, winners at all levels should reach out to those who lost and engage them in dialogue to build a shared national agenda, rather than resorting to intimidation or harassment. According to him, inclusive discussions would foster harmony and strengthen democracy.

Sheikh Lule also expressed concern over continued conflicts in some parts of the world, particularly in Gaza, where he said innocent lives are being lost and many people are facing unlawful arrests without justice, even during the sacred month of Ramadan.

He urged Muslims to pray for fellow believers and other communities living in war-torn countries, and to take up the role of peacemakers within their own communities and across the country. He emphasized that the strength of the Islamic faith is sustained through unity, perseverance, and peaceful coexistence.

The Khadi further encouraged believers to actively participate in religious learning sessions at their respective mosques throughout the holy month.
