Kasese District has launched the construction of the 8.5-kilometre Kakone–Muhindi Road at a cost of UGX 239 million.
The project was flagged off by Resident District Commissioner Lt. Joe Walusimbi, who also commissioned the 3-kilometre Kasanga–Miti–Musanju Road, completed at a cost of UGX 80 million.
District leaders urged residents to utilize the improved roads for commercial activities and embrace commercial farming to boost household incomes.
District Engineer Ronald Asimawe, however, raised concerns over poor drainage practices by residents, noting that failure to create water channels is contributing to road damage, especially during the rainy season.
