Residents of Kasokero and Ibimbo Parishes in Kyondo Sub-county, Kasese District, have a reason to smile following the installation of a piped water system, a development expected to ease the long-standing challenge of water scarcity in the area.

The project, implemented by Kasokero Church of Uganda with support from donors in the United States and Belgium, has brought relief to residents who previously trekked long distances in search of safe and clean drinking water.

Residents, including Night Anna Nyabahasa, Kaggwa Rubasaka, and Atanasi Gabamukulya, said they used to walk for hours to fetch water, but now have renewed hope for a better life.

The piped water project is expected to benefit residents of Kasemire, Kisanga, Kyanzababiri, Kasokero, Bulighisa, and Kyambithi, among other surrounding villages.
