Residents of Mahyoro Town Council in Kitagwenda District are appealing for urgent intervention to restore electricity following a power blackout that has lasted four days. The outage, believed to have been caused by a burnt transformer, has disrupted daily activities and paralyzed businesses.
Local entrepreneurs, especially those relying on electricity for operations like milling machines and refrigeration, have reported significant financial losses. Residents told Crooze FM that the blackout is taking a toll on livelihoods, leaving many frustrated.
Marion Ninsima, the Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) Station Manager for Kamwenge, confirmed that the issue has been noted and efforts to resolve it are ongoing.
Residents now await swift action to restore power and alleviate the economic strain on the community.
