Police in Sheema District are investigating the mysterious death of Nicholas Nuwagaba, a 40-year-old resident of Rwenshama Cell in Kagango Division, Sheema Municipality, who was reportedly killed by unidentified assailants on the morning of Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
According to SP Apollo Tayebwa, spokesperson for the Greater Bushenyi Regional Police, the body was discovered by women on their way to their gardens.
It bore multiple injuries on the head, hands, and legs, indicating a violent attack.
Preliminary police findings suggest that Nuwagaba was a known habitual thief in the area.
Police believe this may have played a role in the circumstances surrounding his death.
Residents quickly alerted authorities, who responded to the scene and transported the body to Kabwohe Health Centre IV for a postmortem examination.
Investigations are ongoing to identify the suspects and uncover the motive behind the killing.
