Rubirizi Senior Human Resource Suspended Over Corruption Allegations

Julius Mwebaze the senior Rubirizi District has been suspended for six months over alleged negligence of duty and corruption-related offenses.

The action follows charges filed under Criminal Case No. CO-0150/26, citing failure to perform official duties in line with the Penal Code Act.

 According to a letter issued by the Chief Administrative Officer Paul Samuel Mbiiwa, the suspension take immediate effect to allow investigations and court proceedings to continue without interference.

Under the interdiction terms, Mwebaze is barred from accessing his offices without authorization and cannot leave the country without permission. He has also been directed to hand over office and will receive half salary during the suspension, in accordance with Public Service Standing Orders.

District Communications Officer Amon Muhereza said the move is administrative and does not imply guilt, noting that the matter is still before court.
