The National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential candidate, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has unveiled a series of major infrastructure projects for Rwampara District as part of his development agenda ahead of the 2026 general election.
Addressing supporters at Bujaga Playgrounds on Monday afternoon, Museveni announced that government plans to undertake several tarmac road projects aimed at boosting trade, easing transportation, and improving service delivery within the district.
Among the proposed roads are the Ruti–Mwizi–Kabuyanda–Kikagati road and the Nyakiraguju–Rugamba–Rwoho–Rukoni–Kitwe–Mirama Hill road, which are expected to strengthen connectivity across Rwampara and link the area to key regional transport corridors.
Beyond road infrastructure, Museveni also pledged to establish a water irrigation scheme in the district to bolster agricultural productivity. He urged residents to protect and conserve wetlands, noting that safeguarding these ecological resources is essential for effective water storage and sustainable irrigation.
