Mbarara City Council has announced plans to allocate Shs. 200 million in the current financial year to purchase a water bowser, addressing growing complaints from residents about worsening dust conditions on key community access roads.

Mbarara City Mayor Robert Mugabe Kakyebezi revealed that the procurement process for the new water bowser has already been advertised, signaling the council’s commitment to resolving the issue.

The dust problem has been particularly severe on roads such as Ntare, Booma, and Kakoba-Kakayeka, with residents voicing concerns over the health and livelihood impacts. The intervention is expected to provide relief by watering the roads and reducing dust levels.

The mayor assured residents that the council remains dedicated to improving road conditions and ensuring a healthier environment for all city dwellers.
