Kitagwenda District is gearing up to host President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Sunday, May 18, 2025, as he conducts an on-ground assessment of the Parish Development Model (PDM) rollout.
Local leaders are being encouraged to make the most of the presidential visit by presenting pressing development needs that have long awaited action.
Former Kitagwenda County Member of Parliament, Abbas Agaba Mugisa, has outlined three top priorities he believes must be brought to the President’s attention.
In an exclusive interview with Crooze FM, Agaba called for urgent improvements in the district’s administrative and infrastructure systems to better serve the growing population.
He specifically urged the government to elevate Ntara Health Centre IV to a district hospital, citing mounting health service demands.
Agaba also pressed for a follow-up on a long-standing presidential pledge — made during the 2016 election campaign — to tarmac the Ibanda–Kitagwenda–Mahyoro–Rubirizi road.
As anticipation builds ahead of Museveni’s visit, residents and leaders alike are hoping the engagement will result in renewed focus on Kitagwenda’s development priorities.
