The Grade I Magistrate’s Court sitting today at Rukoki in Kasese District has committed Benson Kule to the High Court on a charge of murder.

Court, presided over by the Kasese Senior Grade I Magistrate, Her Worship Hamida Namukasa, heard that on August 24, 2025, at Legacy Chill Out Bar along Crescent Road in Kasese Town, Kule and others still at large allegedly murdered Jell Bwambale.

It is alleged that during celebrations of the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon Carnival, Kule and a group of others engaged in a violent fight with the deceased, inflicting fatal injuries.

According to brief facts contained in the committal documents, the suspects continued beating Bwambale until he breathed his last, attracting the attention of bar bouncers who intervened, arrested Kule, and handed him over to police for investigations.

Kule has since been on remand at Mubuku Government Prison, and upon completion of investigations, court committed him to the High Court pending the commencement of his trial.
