Police in Bushenyi District are investigating a fatal hit and run accident that kills four people along the Bushenyi Mbarara highway in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The crash occurs at about 2:00 a.m. near Peak Hotel and involves a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, registration number UMA 992CA, which is knocked by an unidentified motor vehicle that flees the scene.

According to the Greater Bushenyi Regional Police spokesperson, SP Apollo Tayebwa, the accident claims the lives of three males and one female.

Police officers respond promptly, secure the scene, and transport the bodies to KIU Teaching Hospital–Ishaka mortuary for postmortem examinations.

Preliminary investigations point to reckless driving. Police have appealed to the public for information that may help trace the driver involved and have urged all road users to strictly observe traffic rules to prevent further loss of life.
