A recount of election results for the Busongora County South Member of Parliament seat has been scheduled for today.

The Kasese Chief Magistrate’s Court, presided over by His Worship George Mfitundinda, heard that on 15 January, while at the Kasese Multipurpose Hall in Kasese Municipality, election results were allegedly altered in favour of NRM’s Hon. Mulindwa David Isimbwa.

While delivering his ruling on an application for a recount filed by NUP flag bearer Hon. Mbaju Jackson Kathika, Magistrate Mfitundinda ordered that the recount be conducted at 9:00 a.m. at the court premises.

Hon. Mbaju, further alleged that some presiding officers especially in Katwe Kabatooro Town Council who signed two different declarations of results forms would be held accountable before the law.
