Kabale Municipality — The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, has called on Christians to live as pilgrims of hope by building their lives on continuous and steadfast prayer.
Bishop Rubaramira made the call today while confirming 442 candidates into the Catholic faith during a solemn Mass at Christ the King Parish in Kabale Municipality.
Drawing inspiration from the Gospel of Luke 18:1–8, the Bishop emphasized that prayer should not be an occasional act but a constant way of life. He urged believers to remain committed to prayer even when answers seem delayed, trusting that God listens and responds in His perfect timing.
He reminded the faithful that God is not like the unjust judge in the Gospel parable. While the widow’s persistence moved a reluctant man to act, God is loving and just and responds even more readily to His people when they approach Him with faith and trust.
The Bishop also encouraged Christians to strengthen one another in their prayer journeys, remain united in hope, and prepare for the Second Coming of Christ by maintaining a faithful and consistent prayer life.
Beyond spiritual growth, Bishop Rubaramira urged Christians to embrace income-generating and agricultural projects such as poultry keeping, vegetable growing, and mixed farming to promote self-sustainability. He advised parents to guide their children in establishing small projects and nurturing a culture of creativity and hard work among the youth.
At the same function, Kabale Municipality Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Nicholas Thadeus Kamara, encouraged the newly confirmed Christians to let the Holy Spirit guide their daily lives and inspire them to spread the Gospel wherever they go.
Meanwhile, Kabale District Woman MP, Hon. Catherine Atwakiire Ndamira, commended the Bishop for his efforts to fight poverty among Christians through church-led development initiatives. She noted that such programs have greatly improved livelihoods and promoted self-reliance in many households.
She urged Christians to fully embrace these projects, saying they enable families to meet essential needs such as education, healthcare, and other basic expenses.
