Ibanda, Kazo Share Spoils in Ankore Cup Clash

By Ivan Mugisha

Ibanda District and Kazo District played out a goalless draw in a closely contested Ankore Cup tournament match held at St. George’s Kagongo Playground.

The highly anticipated fixture attracted hundreds of football fans and was attended by musician Eddy Kenzo, alongside several political leaders, including Members of Parliament from neighbouring districts.

Despite a lively atmosphere and strong support from the stands, neither side was able to find the breakthrough as disciplined defending and missed chances kept the score level throughout the match.

Speaking after the game, Kazo District Team Coach Alex Kizito admitted his side did not perform to expectations but expressed confidence ahead of their next fixture.

Meanwhile, Ibanda District Team Coach Stuart Katongole said the team would work on correcting mistakes and build on the positives from the match.
