Buganda Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has urged young people to take an active role in preserving and promoting cultural values, emphasizing the importance of understanding and embracing their heritage.
He made these remarks on Wednesday during a meeting with students at Mbarara University of Science and Technology’s Kihumuro campus.
While addressing them, he urged the youth to take pride in their identity and intentionally learn and uphold their traditions.
Mayiga emphasized that awareness of culture among young people plays a vital role in building unity, discipline, and a strong sense of belonging in society.
Mayiga will today, Thursday, continue his engagements by meeting members of Nkobazambogo from the Ankole and Kigezi regions at Hotel Triangle ahead of the group’s leadership selection exercise.
