The Bishop of Ankole Diocese, Rt. Rev. Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa, has said that the biggest challenge facing Uganda is the love of money, which he described as the root of all evil.
In his New Year message, the bishop condemned injustices, particularly corruption, which he said continue to undermine the country’s development.
Bishop Mwesigwa also cautioned voters against being influenced by politicians through monetary inducements as the country heads to the polls next month.
He advised citizens that while they may accept money if it is offered, they should cast their votes for leaders who are committed to transforming their communities.
