KIU Student Murdered, Police Arrest Two in Bushenyi

Police in Bushenyi District have launched investigations into the murder of 21-year-old Karunga Linette, a student at Kampala International University (KIU) Western Campus, who was reportedly killed on December 6, 2025, at around 8:00 p.m. in Nyakashebeya Village, Nyabubare Parish, Nyabubare Subcounty.

According to SP Apollo Tayebwa, the Greater Bushenyi Regional Police spokesperson, officers responded to the scene and carried out investigations in line with standard procedures before transferring the body to the KIU Teaching Hospital Ishaka mortuary. A post-mortem report is expected to determine the exact cause of death.

Tayebwa confirmed that police have arrested two of the deceased’s alleged boyfriends, identified as Nimwesiga Onan and one Farouk, to assist with ongoing inquiries into the incident.
