President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening religious and community-based development in Kamwenge District, during a visit on Thursday to assess the progress of the Parish Development Model (PDM).
While meeting with local leaders and church representatives, the President responded to a series of development appeals, pledging direct support for key projects in the district.
These include financing the construction of St. Stevens Cathedral in the East Rwenzori Diocese, purchasing a school bus for Kyabenda School, and donating a double cabin pickup to assist the parish priest of Kamwenge Catholic Parish.
The pledges were warmly welcomed by local leaders and religious institutions, who hailed the President’s continued support for grassroots development and infrastructure improvement.
The visit is part of Museveni’s nationwide tour to evaluate the implementation and impact of the PDM on communities across Uganda.
