Residents of Biafra Cell in Kamukuzi Ward, Mbarara City North Division, are living in fear following a series of violent attacks by machete-wielding thugs.
According to LC1 Chairman Ahamada Sembirige, the latest incident occurred last Wednesday morning when assailants attacked Steven Mujuni, the LC1 secretary for finance, leaving him severely injured. In response, local authorities and police have arrested three suspects linked to the attack.
Chairman Sembirige attributed the surge in crime to street children posing as scrap collectors who later turn to criminal activities under the cover of darkness. He called on security agencies to intensify efforts to restore safety in the area.
