NRM presidential candidate Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has unveiled fresh infrastructure pledges for Mitooma District, announcing that the Ishaka–Kashenshero tarmac road will be extended through Mitooma to Rukungiri.

He also committed to upgrading the Bwizibwera–Nyakambu–Rukungiri road, saying both projects are lined up for implementation in his next term.

Speaking at a campaign rally at Kirambi–Ruhinda Market Grounds, Museveni said government will finalize last-mile electricity connections in the remaining three of Mitooma’s 18 sub-counties.

He credited residents for what he called the district’s steady progress under the NRM and outlined further plans to boost education and health services. Mitooma currently has 109 government primary schools, 16 government secondary schools, a general hospital, and multiple Health Centre IVs and IIIs.

Museveni will later address his next rally at Kyenzaza Playground in Rubirizi District.
