As Uganda prepares for the 2026 general elections, Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) party president, Gen. Gregory Mugisha Muntu, has reiterated that tackling corruption and improving public service delivery will be central to his leadership agenda if elected president.
While addressing residents of Ntara Town Council in Kitagwenda District over the weekend, Gen. Muntu rallied support for the ANT and emphasized the need for a government grounded in integrity, unity, and accountability. The visit was part of his campaign tour across the western region, where he engaged communities in Kamwenge and Kitagwenda districts.
During the interaction, residents expressed concerns over persistent service delivery challenges, including poor road infrastructure, unreliable electricity and water supply, under-resourced schools, and corruption within government offices.
Gen. Muntu criticized the ruling government for failing to curb corruption and uplift citizens’ livelihoods despite years in power. He vowed to build a transparent administration where competence—not bribery or connections—determines public service employment.
On healthcare, the ANT leader pledged that every sub-county in Uganda would have at least one well-equipped health facility to ensure equitable access to medical services.
He also stressed the urgency of improving the country’s road network, noting that rural areas such as Kamwenge and Kitagwenda have long suffered from government neglect.
Gen. Muntu concluded by urging Ugandans to choose leaders who value accountability and are committed to transforming lives through efficient and citizen-centered governance.
