Mbarara City Woman Member of Parliament, Ritah Bwahiika, has called on voters in the city to remain vigilant as the country prepares to go to the polls next Thursday.

Bwahiika noted that although Mbarara City has a history of largely peaceful elections, there are concerns that some individuals may resort to violence or intimidation in an attempt to influence the outcome of the vote.

She made the remarks on Friday morning while meeting pastors from Mbarara City at General Suites.

During the engagement, the legislator encouraged voters to actively participate in the electoral process by exercising their constitutional right to choose leaders of their choice.

Bwahiika further urged voters to remain at polling stations throughout the voting and vote-counting process to observe all procedures, warning them not to be intimidated by anyone seeking to force them to vote and leave prematurely.

She emphasized that voter vigilance is key to ensuring a free, fair, and transparent election.
