Bubaare Catholic Parish in Ibanda District has unveiled a Shs 3.5 billion commercial construction project aimed at strengthening the parish’s financial sustainability while supporting its pastoral mission.
The ambitious project was officially unveiled on Christmas Day shortly after Holy Mass at St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Church, attracting excitement and optimism among parishioners.
Parish leaders said the commercial complex will be constructed on the parish’s land along the Ibanda–Fort Portal Road, a prime location on the town’s main street. The development will consist of several commercial buildings designed to generate long-term income for the parish.
The Chairperson of the Parish Council, Aloysius Kasingye, described the project as a strategic investment intended to ensure financial stability and reduce the parish’s reliance on donations.
Kasingye added that construction is expected to be completed within one year and urged Christians to wholeheartedly support the initiative to ensure its successful implementation.
